The Belay Master is a unique and patented combination of the Fat Boy HMS with an integral plastic clip that together increase the safety of the belay system.
The clip can only be locked into place when the screw gate barrel is tightened into the locked position, thus providing a fail-safe check that the biner is closed securely.
The plastic clip also stops the carabiner from rotating in the belay system and being cross loaded.
The Fatboy HMS is a mid-size HMS with a large rope radius and soft angles on the top bar. This means that it works well with the vast majority of belay devices.
All the usual DMM features are present:
- The barrel is machined from 7075 alloy for increased strength and to protect against accidents caused by push-in failure.
- The gate/barrel/nose intersection is designed and manufactured so that the barrel will not jam shut in the closed position if the carabiner is tightened under load.
- All the rope radiuses are rumbled until they are perfectly smooth
The Belay Master can also be used without the clip.
