La Sportiva Python

The Python was built specifically for our climbing team to satisfy the need for the perfect comp shoe.  The ideal tool for high level modern climbing where you need sticky rubber over the toes and full rubber coverage on the outside of the heel for technical heel hooks. The Python has an added tension strap for lower volume feet that can't get a good fit in a slipper. Unlined and super sensitive for tecnical smears, scums and body tension moves where your feet are barely on the wall.

The year 1998 saw the introduction of  “Cobra”, the all-around performance climbing slipper created by La Sportiva , destined to become a market leader from day one and still going strong.

Cobra is an eclectic, top-notch model, designed for varied vertical terrains: demanding boulders, extreme climbing walls and mixed alpine climbs.  These slippers have become among the most popular alpine footwear for some of the strongest and most demanding professional climbers and have been appearing on podiums worldwide.  A climbing slipper that seems to have stood the test of time.

But fortunately climbing continues to expand, evolve. And as climbing evolves La Sportiva  follows with the introduction of a new high performance model.

Over the past 18 months La Sportiva’s R&D department have been striving to develop a new slipper that maintains many of the same characteristics of the Cobra model (still part of the La Sportiva climbing range) but introduces a number of innovative new features developed specifically for the requirement of today’s, high level climbing movements, to maximize edging on thin foot holds,  heel and toe hooks.

Similar to its predecessor this model also comes in the tradition orange colour while the sinuous name: Python suggests the enhanced sensitivity features.
